Long distance moves require special preparations. The customer and the mover must have a full understanding of the tasks, time lines, budget and have open lines of communication from the time of getting a quote to the time shipment is delivered to new residence.

The following steps must be taken during long distance relocation:

• On site estimate,
• Providing customer with an accurate binding estimate,
• Explaining options that can help control the costs,
• Selecting dates for packing, moving, and delivery,
• Packing boxes,
• Dis assembly of furniture,
• Crating fragile items (carton or wooden crates available),
• Taking written inventory of every item, each item gets a tag its number goes in the inventory form, and both customer and mover sign the receipt of the items and their condition on the day of pick up,
• Loading the trailer,
• Weighing the truck - calculating final and exact weight of the shipment,
• Transportation of the shipment,
• Keeping in touch with customer and driver at all times,
• Delivery - unloading and placing belongings in assigned rooms,
• Re assemble furniture, reconnect electronics & appliances,
• Customer and mover review items for any damages or missing items.

 

Services Included in the weight tariff:

• Protecting furniture with moving blankets,
• Disassembly and reassembly of articles,
• Taking inventory of your items,
• Weighing the truck (before and after it was loaded),
• Loading and Unloading the truck,
• Transportation of goods

 

Additional or Acsessorial Services:

• Packing and Unpacking of boxes,
• Materials  (boxes, bubble, foam, paper, shrink, etc.),
• Stairs, Long Walks, Elevators,

• Extra stops for pickups or deliveries,

Some of the services may be added or done by the customer to control the cost of the move. Our specialists work with customers assisting in fitting the cost of relocation in customers budget.

 

 

Long Distance moves are calculated by the size of your shipment.

The truck is weighed empty at the government certified scales. Then it is weighed again after truck has been loaded. The difference is called "payload".

	These are state guielines to how to go about  weighing a shipment.
	This is a copy of a weigh ticket from a government regulated scale master.

The tariff is then applied. The tariff is based on the distance of the delivery.

EXAMPLE:

• Heavy Weight: 21,400 lbs.less Light Weight: 15,200 lbs.
• Payload: 6,200 lbs.
• Tariff: $.25/lb (for 200 miles)
• 6,200 x .25 = $1,550.00 Transportation Cost.
• Additional costs may apply. Such as packing, unpacking boxes, cost of materials, stairs, storage in transit, shuttle services, long walk etc.
